Overweight Container Drayage — FDOT-Permitted | Miami
New Roads Logistics handles overweight and heavy container drayage at Port of Miami and Port Everglades. We manage FDOT overweight permits, axle-weight compliance, and specialized routing for containers exceeding standard weight limits.
Overweight Container Capabilities
Standard Florida gross vehicle weight limit is 80,000 lbs. With a sealed-container overweight permit from FDOT, we can haul containers up to approximately 65,000 lbs cargo weight depending on the chassis and tractor combination. We provide multi-axle chassis (tri-axle and quad-axle) to distribute weight across more axles and comply with bridge formula requirements.
Out-of-Gauge Cargo
For cargo that does not fit in a standard container — machinery, structural steel, oversized equipment — we handle flat racks and open-top containers. FDOT oversize/overweight permits, route surveys, and escort coordination are managed by our team.
